This painting is called "Cool Waters" and it's a group-paint project with my online watercolor group. This was a triple challenge for me: trying to create realistic water, realistic foliage and realistic rocks. All of these are tricky for the uninitiated! All in all, I think it works...

Day Lily

This day lily was growing in my neighborhood. It took me a couple weekends to complete as I layered on more and more pigment to the flower and the background to really make the flower pop.
