This painting was a class project. I loved how the abstractness of the coloring of her face blended with the background and the hat. Yet her facial features made her realistic.

Day Lily

This day lily was growing in my neighborhood. It took me a couple weekends to complete as I layered on more and more pigment to the flower and the background to really make the flower pop. This painting is done on 9 x 12 Kilamanjaro 140 pound cold pressed watercolor paper.

On Holiday

This was the July08 photo paint with my online watercolor group. Everyone paints from the same photograph and then posts the painting. At the end of the month a member puts all the entries into a slideshow. It's amazing how many different styles and interpretations there are.
